It finally happened. I’ve been bitten by the felt floral bug!
For some time, I’ve been seeing all the gorgeous felt flowers and succulents on Instagram, and have several customers who make them for sale in their own shops. I love all the colors and textures, and always wanted to learn how to make some I could use as photo props. I always seemed to have such a long to-do list, and never took the time to search for patterns and tutorials. We all know what it’s like to check Pinterest for one thing, and end up there for an hour or more, totally distracted… am I right?
This week, I found the fLOhRA Design channel on YouTube, and I’m hooked! Diedre’s videos are fun to watch, and the steps are super easy to follow. Here's one video that shows 3 simple flowers you can create from flat flower die cuts. This is wonderful, because it shows us some new ideas for our precut felt shapes!
After I watched all the videos, I jumped right in and purchased the Felt Succulent Wreath online class. The class comes with a materials list, a link to some PDF patterns, and a video to follow at your own pace. I can’t wait to get started!
If you want to learn how to make your own felt florals, FlohRA Design is the place! Sign up for a class, or start with the YouTube channel. Either way, get ready for a new favorite craft!
If you’re new to working with felt, give me a shout. I’d be happy to help with your questions!
Did you know? Busy Little Bird offers a variety of flower die cut shapes in colors of your choice! Wool blend felt sheets are now available in 127 colors!
If you need me, I’ll be in the craft room, picking out some felt for my flowers and succulents!
