This month's shop feature is Sew June Jones. I stumbled on June's Instagram feed a while back, and loved her little felt animals! June makes patterns for felt, and she also sells some finished items in her shop.
Hi, June! Tell us a little bit about yourself and where you’re from: Hello, I'm June and I live in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool on the North East coast of England with my lovely husband and pets. Our three sons have now flown the nest.
What would people be surprised to learn about you? I think people would be surprised to learn that I'm a fine juggler!! I learnt to juggle one rainy afternoon when the boys were small. They were feeling bored because they couldn't play outside so it was my attempt to keep them amused by trying to juggle with three oranges from the fruit bowl. The oranges ended up a bit battered and bruised but I'm pleased to say we can all juggle!
What is one of your proudest achievements? I have three ... my sons, they have all grown into lovely young men ... I'm very proud!
When you’re not crafting or working on your shop, what do you like to do? When I'm not working on my shop I love to be outdoors, especially walking the dogs along the beach. I also love days out with my hubby, walking in the countryside, visiting new coffee shops and catching up with family and friends.
What is your favorite piece of work that you created? I think my favourite piece of work is the panda pillow. Mainly because it was the first custom order I received and I designed and created it in one day. It was a great sense of achievement.
When did you start your business, and what was your motivation? I started my business in June 2013 when I started to dabble in crafts. I found I loved working with felt and soon had a collection of crafty makes which prompted me to open my Etsy shop. I love designing and making cute things so much that I decided to create patterns to inspire others to sew too.
Describe your workspace: In the beginning I used to work on the dining table which you couldn't see for mountains of felt, ribbon, buttons and lots of crafty stuff! But now the boys have all left home I'm lucky to have a spare room to use as my studio. I would describe it as very colourful and messy most of the time. I do tidy it often but it never seems to last for long!
What are the craft tools/supplies you can’t live without? I can't live without a sharp pair of scissors, especially my pair of embroidery scissors for the small and fiddly pattern pieces.
Do you have any tips or inspiring words for others? If you are dreaming of starting a craft business I would say go for it. Take one step at a time, believe in yourself and see where it takes you. The beauty of handmade is that every piece is unique but what I have learned along the way is that it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful.
Where else can we find you?

Are you a morning person or a night person? I used to be a night owl but as I've gotten older I'm more of a morning person. I'm definitely most productive on a morning.
Do you have any pets? Yes we have two gorgeous dogs Luka and Bailey and two sweet little cats Izzy and George.
Right-handed or left-handed? Left-handed.
