If it's super hot in your neck of the woods this summer, you are not alone! When it's too hot to go outside, it's time for crafting, don't you agree?
Welcome to Part 1 of our Summer Make-Along! This is my second collaboration with my crafting buddy from Pattymac Knits. Patty and I both wanted to make some felt Pocket Kittens (coming next week in Part 2) from Swoodson Says, and decided it would be fun to have a little companion for the kitten. Ta-da! I made my very first pattern - the Felt Mouse Friend!
In all my years of crafting, I've made plenty of pattern templates for my own use - but I never took photos during the process or wrote up the instructions in a manner that someone else could follow them. Let me say, making a pattern has given me a huge respect for the pattern makers out there!
This project is perfect for small pieces of felt if you have some scraps on hand. You can add any extra details you like. No matter what, you'll end up with a cute little plushie!
Here's what you'll need:
- Mouse Friend pattern
- Felt pieces (I always use wool blend felt)
- Embroidery floss
- Embroidery needle
- Sharp scissors
- Polyester stuffing
- Yarn or cord for mouse tail
- Any other embellishments you like!
Have some mouse-making fun, and be sure to share your photos with us!
Be sure to follow both of us on Instagram for more crafty fun!
Look for Part 2 of our make-along next week - the Pocket Kitten!
